Child Safety Standards
Last updated: October 2026. This page is published in English only.
WaveSign.me and the WaveSign apps for iOS and Android are operated by e77code GmbH, Sunnedörflistr. 42, 3512 Walkringen, Switzerland. These are our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They apply to the website, the apps and every entry, reply and report that passes through the service.
1. Zero tolerance
WaveSign is a service for adults: the terms allow its use from the age of 18 only. We do not tolerate any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation. This includes, without limitation: child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind; entries, replies or reports that describe a minor in a sexual way or present a minor as a sexual interest; attempts to use the service to approach, groom, solicit or arrange contact with a minor; and any content that promotes, normalises or instructs such conduct. Such content is removed from the service, not merely hidden, and the person behind it is barred from using the service.
2. How to report
Every WaveSign shown on the map, on the website and in the apps, has a "Report" link on its card. Choose the reason that fits ("Sexual content" or "Illegal content" for anything concerning a minor), describe what you saw and confirm the report through the e-mail you receive. Every report is reviewed by a human moderator. You can also write to us directly at [email protected]; this address also takes reports from people who do not use the service themselves, from parents or guardians, and from authorities and child protection organisations.
3. Checks before publication
Every entry is checked before it becomes visible: by a word filter in all supported languages and by an automated content review that runs on our own servers. An entry that violates these standards is blocked or taken off the map and handed to a moderator; an entry the automated review is unsure about is filed as a report for human review. Descriptions may not contain names, contact details or other personal data, which also limits what can be said about any person, including a minor.
4. How we handle CSAM and CSAE
When we become aware of CSAM or of conduct described in section 1, whether through a report, the automated review or our own moderation, we act immediately: the content is removed from the service; the data needed by law enforcement (the content, the e-mail address and the technical data we hold) is preserved and not deleted by the regular retention rules; the case is reported to the competent authorities, in Switzerland to the Federal Office of Police (fedpol) and, where the content falls within its remit, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC); and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement in every country we operate in. We do not notify the person who posted the content.
5. Compliance with child safety laws
We comply with the Swiss Criminal Code and the applicable child protection laws of the countries in which the service is offered, including the European Union, and with the child safety requirements of the app stores (Google Play Child Safety Standards policy, Apple App Store Review Guidelines). We review these standards at least once a year and whenever the law or the service changes.
6. Point of contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety matters is reachable at [email protected] (e77code GmbH, Sunnedörflistr. 42, 3512 Walkringen, Switzerland). This contact receives notices from users, authorities and the app stores, and is authorised to act on them. Please do not send CSAM to this address: describe the content and where you found it, and we will take it from there.
