Short version
WaveSign is a free service for getting in touch after a chance encounter. You wave at someone and then leave a WaveSign on wavesign.me: the place, the time and a few words about the other person and yourself. That person finds the entry on the map and writes to you. No account is needed, and nobody sees your e-mail address.
Long version
WaveSign is a gesture with one agreed meaning: look me up on wavesign.me and get in touch. Whoever gave the sign leaves an entry there with the place, the time and a short description of the other person, of themselves and of the situation. The other person searches by place and time, recognises the situation and replies. Contact runs by e-mail, and the address of the person who left the entry stays hidden until they answer. It works wherever direct contact was not possible, for example when someone caught your eye and you did not dare to say hi, or when you found something a stranger left on the train. Entries stay on the map for 30 days. WaveSign is free and needs no account. It runs on the web in 11 languages and as an app for iPhone and Android, made in Switzerland by e77code GmbH.
